Save Your Saviors

You Can Make A Difference

Our Work

Who We are

My name is Rishabh Saxena, I am a  high school student from Bellarmine College Prep High School, living in Fremont, California.

My mother is one of many health care workers fighting for us. She and many HCW are soldiers on the front lines fighting a war against the terrifying new enemy "Covid-19” that is exponentially growing. They need ammunition, weapons, and armor to win this fight.

I decided to start a campaign  "Save Your Saviors".  My goal was to initially raise donations to buy personal protective equipment  (PPE) for those in the community putting their lives on the line to save others.  I started a Gofundme campaign to raise money for this project.

CDC recommendations suggest guidelines for protection but there was a big shortage of supplies of basic PPE. initially, a 10% to 1% infection rate drop in Health Care Workers in China and Korea was able to be achieved only after proper personal protective equipment was used.

After researching how the risks faced by frontline workers could be mitigated, I found out that, in addition to other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), reusable and washable bio-suits helped keep the infection rate low among the healthcare workers in South Korea.

My research indicated that these bio-suits were already used in a few emergency rooms in hospitals across the United States but were not readily available. I contacted several suppliers and was able to line up reliable vendors for ordering reusable bio-suits and other PPE to protect our Health Care Workers.

Shivina Chugh, a Mission San Jose High School student believed in my cause and her mother a physician too had been working as a front-line worker involved in this fight. Shivina had been passionate about contributing to this cause and decided to join the team of Save your Saviors to spread awareness in the community and raising funds.

We ran the idea of sourcing the bio-suits an Intensive Care Unit director and a member of infection control personnel who saw great value in our idea. Not only was this idea well-received by the hospitals we started getting more referrals.  We were able to supply some of the local hospitals with PPE from the donations raised from the community.

Fremont Bridge Rotary Club played a huge role in spreading awareness about our campaign and help us raise significant contributions from the community to fund this project.

"Save your Saviors" means a lot to us as a high school student. As we believe that we can empower our frontline workers and segments of society who need our help in these difficult times. The generous donation and community support can truly save the lives of our frontline workers and help us prevail over this adversity.

Thank you for your consideration to support our local frontline Health Care Workers!! Click 'Save your Saviors' to donate.

30th September, 2020 Fundraising Drive for Domestic Violence Shelter.

For many, our home is a place of love and security; however, for some, unfortunately, it is not a safe haven.

October is designated as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The month evolved from the Day of Unity held in October 1981 and was conceived by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The Day of Unity soon became into a week, and in October of 1987, the first National Domestic Violence Awareness Month was observed. In 1989 Congress passed Public Law 101-112, officially designating October of that year as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Such legislation has been given each year since then.

Speak up.
Break the silence.
Stand up for yourself.
Spread awareness.

12th August, 2020 Delivery of contributions from the community to 'Narika' Domestic Violence Survivors

Domestic violence, a significant issue prevalent in all communities, took a toll with the advent of COVID-19. The numbers have escalated as the survivors are stuck with the abusers under the same roof. However, for domestic violence survivors, staying at home is not always the safest option.

Our responsibility to the community extends far beyond to many stakeholders in the community. The effects of this pandemic are far-reaching in the community. After extending our help to health care workers we feel immensely satisfied to organize a drive for Narika.

Thanks to Monika Chugh, and Ranjana Saxena for their advice and help.

We collected items ranging from food ( perishables and non-perishables), personal care, home care, kitchen care, and gift cards.

We are immensely thankful to the families of Mr. Hari Nandan Jain, Mily Jain, Amrit Chugh, Archana Bhandari, Sushma Malhotra, Geetika Kochar, Rupali Malhotra, Evelyn Nakagawa, Anshu Gupta, Misha Grewal Bhardwaj, Ritu Vohra, Jigna Faria, Meenu Vij Sabhlok for their generous contributions for such a noble cause. With their contributions, approximate good of $2000 would be shared with the vulnerable survivors who are in need.

If you know or suspect your friend who might be experiencing domestic violence, you may not know how best to help. Do not let the fear of saying the wrong thing prevent you from reaching out. Letting your friend know that you are there for them can offer tremendous relief and allow you to change a life forever.

April 13, 2020  Delivery to Highland County Hospital, Alameda Health System.

Hi Everyone!

This week with donations from you all and contributions from Fremont Bridge Rotary Club we donated reusable bio suits and masks to the Highland county hospital residency program. These biosuits will be used by residents in training who spend their time in the county hospital taking care of indigent patient population. Residents are at extremely high risk for catching COVID-19 while doing their jobs. Several Resident in country lost their lives while taking care of COVID-19 patients. Our gratitude goes to Dr. Evelyn Nakagawa and Dr. Steve Sackrin for giving us this opportunity to help HCW who need it the most.
